The Assam government has announced April 9, 2026 (Thursday), as a public holiday across the state for the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections.
As per the notification from the General Administration Department, issued under the N.I. Act, 1881 and following Election Commission instructions, all government and private offices, educational institutions, banks, tea gardens, industries, and local bodies will remain closed on that day.
